1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, egg, whole milk, chopped white onion, minced garlic, 2 tbsp soy sauce, sugar, black pepper, and sesame oil; mix until evenly combined. 2. Divide mixture into eight portions and shape into flat patties about 3 inches (7.5 cm) wide. 3. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until well browned and cooked through (internal temperature 160°F/71°C). 4. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over patties if using and serve immediately with steamed rice and vegetables.
