1. In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. 2. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, dried basil, and oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and the flavors meld together. Serve over spaghetti and meatballs, garnishing with fresh basil leaves.
